How to exchange Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes

As per latest ammendment from government of India to remove flow to black money from market and fake currency notes all notes with denominations 500 and 1000 has been effectively no legal tender from midnight 9-Nov-2016 in India.

These notes can be exchanged from Bank, Post Office as per laid down guidlines by RBI. As per latest news on national television it is informed that the notes upto Rs 4000/- can be exchanged at any Bank, Post Office till 24-Nov-2016 and futher till 31-Dec-2016 post that new guidelines will be issued.

The notes of denomination Rs 500 and Rs 1000 can be accepted at Hospital, Medical Stores. Doctor prescrition may be demanded for the same. Tourist can exchange their notes at airports.

All notes and coins below Rs 500 denominations will be continue to legal tender. New notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 will be issued to all currency chest after 10-Nov-2016 as per official said in national news channel.
